Multi Ethnic Aberdeen is a user led registered Scottish charity and a non-profit company limited by guarantee.
We are committed to promoting tolerance, cultural diversity, and raising awareness of the value of the ethnic individuals, business owners and organisations within Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and North East Scotland.
We want to promote and encourage a harmonious society in the North East of Scotland that is multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-faith.
We are working towards the social, educational, economic and cultural equality of all members of our community.
We do this by working with the public, private and voluntary sectors to provide equal opportunities for the mutual benefit of everyone living in our area of Scotland.

Moving forward with MeAL
Multi Ethnic Aberdeen grew from the the close and regular involvement of another organisation, Aberdeen Scotland Africa Link (ASAL) which has successfully organised many musical, cultural and educational events and projects in Aberdeen since 1996.
These multi cultural events have promoted, encouraged and inspired more understanding, tolerance and multi-culturism in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
MeAL is building on the foundation of these efforts by ASAL, and responding to increasing diversity as new ethnic communities, such as those from Eastern Europe, make their homes in North East Scotland.
As the need for the understanding of common values, respect, and equal opportunity arises, MeAL will be there to champion those without a voice, by supporting and assisting, by providing information, by opening doors of opportunity to employment or training, and by encouraging people to think and to care.
